Legal / cookies and browser storage

Co

Cookie information for the editorial pages and their local browser tools.

What cookies are

Cookies are small values a website or service asks a browser to store and return with relevant requests. Similar technologies, including localStorage, can retain information in the browser without using cookies. Their purpose and duration depend on the service that creates them.

What the supplied editorial code uses

The HTML, stylesheet and JavaScript for these pages do not set cookies, read tracking cookies, use localStorage or sessionStorage, or include advertising and analytics libraries. The mobile menu, article tabs, accordions and scroll effects operate without persistent identifiers.

The contact tool keeps an assembled draft in page memory. It does not deliberately store a draft between visits. Browser-managed autofill, page restoration, caching and download history are separate device features under your settings.

Clipboard and downloaded files

Choosing “Copy message” asks the browser to write the prepared text to your clipboard. Choosing “Download .txt” creates a local file. Neither action sets a cookie, sends the draft to the publication or creates a server-side contact record. Clipboard contents and files may remain until you replace or delete them.

Hosting and separately supplied services

A live host, security layer or separately supplied consent manager can introduce storage or network processing not present in this editorial code. Any deployed service must be assessed and disclosed according to its actual purpose, provider and duration. Where consent is legally required, non-essential technologies must not run before the necessary permission is obtained.

If the live site provides a privacy or cookie-preferences control, use it to manage the technologies it describes. This page itself does not install a consent banner or store a consent choice. The absence of cookies in the editorial script is not a guarantee about every possible hosting configuration.

Your browser controls

You can inspect, block or clear cookies and site storage using your browser’s privacy or site-settings controls. Menu names differ between browsers and devices. Clearing storage can remove preferences provided by other site services. Blocking cookies should not prevent reading these static articles or using their basic navigation.

Browser controls do not necessarily remove server logs, previously sent emails, downloaded files or clipboard content. Manage those separately through the relevant service or device settings.

External websites

Following an external source link takes you to a different service. Its cookies and storage practices are governed by its own information and controls. We do not embed those services simply by linking to them.
